General Chapter Guidelines/Benefits
A community or locale may establish a Local Chapter upon application to and approval from iNARTE Headquarters. A Local Chapter must be comprised of at least 15 certified iNARTE members dedicated to promoting iNARTE principles and to assuring that iNARTE established standards of competence and excellence are maintained.
Under special circumstances a waiver of the minimum number of members required may be granted by the Board of Directors. Each Chapter shall have as a minimum, three principal officers: President, Secretary, and Treasurer, who posses a current iNARTE certification. The established size of the Chapter would dictate the number of committees and/or additional officers with no minimum or maximum number mandated by iNARTE. Principle officers should not be assigned to more than one position and individuals serving on committees should not be assigned to more than two committees. Chapter officers may be elected or appointed as prescribed by the Local Chapter Constitution and By Laws.
The Local Chapter is authorized and encouraged to form a Certification Review Committee. Criteria for the conduct and operation of the Certification Review Committee, as established by iNARTE Headquarters, must be precisely followed. Formation of the Certification Review Committee requires iNARTE approval and individuals recommended by the Certification Review Committee must receive final approval at the National level.
The Local Chapter may also be designated as an Authorized Testing Center to administer and process applications for individuals desiring iNARTE Certification through the examination process. However, the Local Chapter needs to establish procedures and demonstrate the capability to meet iNARTE criteria for the safeguard of examinations during receipt, storage and administration.
